2001 Space Odyssey opening theme? Didn't think of playing it, but we should have!
It has a very long lowest organ note (16.25Hz?) at the opening that most people have never heard
It's easy for synthetic music and special effects to have very low frequencies, but in recorded music there aren't a lot of instruments that can go that low.
All my apologies, they are Owen's Line array...I vote for Pierre's Line array...
Eric
Hey Tyler
The piece that we played has the same notes at much longet intervals. The open to Thus Sprach Zarasthustra is good. But the Saint Saen's number 3 in this particular recording is in a class all by itself. Ask Pierre. It was really funn lifting the room just as you would hear in concert. Nothing quite like it.

...as you would hear in concert... or standing right next to the pipes of a Casavant organ.
Oops
Darn! Sorry I missed this. I've been working so many hours (the high-tech curse) I didn't even know this happened till after the fact.
Looked like fun, and I hope it happens again. I have some DIY speakers and preamp I could cart along.
Great organization job guys!

Yes yes that is true. But the subwoofer is much cheaper. Because you can do it with any recording you have! And believe it or not it is smaller than the equivalent 32 foot rank of 12 pipes! LOL

Hello Dave - Too bad you missed the event; it was a lot of fun. It would have been nice to hear your speakers and preamp.
The organization belongs to Pierre.
Mark
Well, everybody helped . It seems all had a pleasant and rewarding day.

This is my push-pull class A Thagard-Pass A75. Twelve MOSFETs per side (six IRFP240 and six IRFP9240). The heatsinks run hot, and I must run the amp at lower bias. This was my first DIY project.

Owen's balanced Zen line stage. This is a classic "differential pair" topology with zero negative feedback. Impeccable crafstmanship inside-out. Each channel has its own supply.
Look at these custom cases and pcbs, at the wiring, umbilical cords... wow!

Nelson Pass's balanced Zen line stage must have been a popular project. Our other preamp at the event was based on the same circuit. This is my humble take on it. Very close to the original article. For the input and output volume controls, I was fortunate enough to find and obtain quad Blue Alps pots.
