If you let Windows at them it will try to open the SCHematic files in Windows SCHeduler

Sent last kit to Israel to Yaki yesterday. Still waiting to received PCB sent by error from Ligascon (he was just returning from his honeymoon, I guest he had something else in his mind 😉)
Sent Robmil defective motor (one solder tab was missing) to Maxon from repair or exchange with a RMA number from the factory.
All other members are completed.

I am trying to make a pod to house the motor.I like it to be made in stainless steel,so I am getting a machinist to make one.He wants the dimensions.I checked the "2007 group buy" and on post #82 by Algar emi there is a drawing for the top cover with all the holes.Anybody knows what the diameter and height of the pod should be?

Received today the replacement Maxon Motor for an unlucky member (Robmil) that received it with a missing solder tab. The tab was never there, a manufacturing defect, and I miss it when I shipped it. Maxon replaced it and I'll ship it back tomorrow. Thanks Robmil for your patience and understanding.
I expect I am coming to this thread too late but if anyone has a board/motor/pulley (or any of the aforementioned) then please get in touch with me as I would love to build one of these (I have a wanted ad up, also).

I was took part in this group buy several months ago and never got around to stuffing the boards etc. To many distractions.
I am in the process of refurbishing a Linn LP12 that has an old Valhalla board and very tired motor. Do you think it would be possible to use the maxon motor and Mark Kelly's board to drive a linn turntable?

Need Help - my system oscillate
Hello altogether,
I´ve a problem with my new maxon motor and the dc - speed controller - the system oscillate!
My turntable plate wights round about 15 kg or 33 pounds and I can handel a stable speed to the limit of 25 round per minutes. By faster settings the voltage rise up from 7,8 Volt to 8,4 for a secound and breaks then down to 1,5 Volt after that the voltage rise up to 8,4 Volt and so on.
So the hole system oscillate between 2 and 35 turns per minute.
Have anyone an idea what I have to do ?

I've finally got time to stuff the PC board and was checking voltages yesterday when my R6 resistor went up in smoke. I quickly shut things down. I looked at the part # in the parts listing in the PDF and I did install the correct part according to the list (Mouser 71-RN55D-F-4.99).
However, the part # in the PDF is for a 1/8W resistor when all of the other resisitors in the PCB are 1/4W. I hope I haven't smoked the board. I 'll order another 4.99 (or 5.0 ohm) 1/2 W this time and hopefully I won't get a pop and things will go on their merry way.

I wired the battery to go into the motor connection on the PC board when testing the voltages. F___k!
No wonder the reisistor popped. Hopefully the PC board is ok, no visible problems otherwise, although I'm not sure about the IC's I 'll have to stop doing this stuff after midnight although its the only free time I have to spare.

I cannot guarantee that the drive will work for you. It's not the mass of the platter that's the problem but it may well be excess frictional loss in the bearing. This will cause the torque requirement to exceed the headroom allowed for in the design.
The easiest way around this is to increase the headroom by increasing the supply voltage. Don't forget to increase the ehatsinking on the pass transistors if you do this.
Also see below regarding the bypass resistor on the motor.

It seems I made an error in my calculations.
I recently had cause to review the design in the course of repairing a unit which had begun to malfunction.
The bypass resistor on the motor seems to be counterproductive. Removing it and re-adjusting the compensation fixed the problem this drive was having.
