20' of classical records

Last fall I acquired around 4000 records from an audiophile friend who is moving in retirement. I have gone through them and kept what I can manage to store and am now looking to move the remaining collection on to the next person who will appreciate them. I did not cherry pick for value. I used a somewhat random criteria as there are far more records here than I wanted to keep. The collection is mostly Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Chopin, Handel, Litzt.

Most of them are in reasonably good condition and are very listenable. I figure there are about 1600 records here. Disclaimer, As one would expect, there are definitely some things that nobody is likely to want. You will absolutely have a junk pile of records that you just don't want.

Make an offer.

I know what they are worth (or not worth in this case). I am most interested in them not ending up in a landfill. I want them all to go, not sell one or two here or there.

Located in Vermont.

I just turned down my next door neighbors classical collection. It's a tough sell. They inquired with a couple of shops here that buy vinyl, but all they want are jazz and rock and that obscure band that if you knew about it, it wouldn't be cool anymore.

@zacster wish I had neighbors that offered me their classical collection. I like classical.

@DaveM The current situation has taken its toll on the cookie jar, but if you don't mind, shoot me a pm with a ballpark figure on the remaining vinyl.

I like classical, in fact it's what I like the most. Would love to have such a collection to explore and discover. It's indeed sad that collections like this are not valued, and there isn't a proper archival/digitalization effort (is there?).

I’m located in CT...so a road trip is feasible.

I listen to classical music every morning.

However, my interests lie mainly with small scale performances. Chamber music. A lot of Piano or classical guitar etc.

I find Orchestral performances overwhelming.

It seems like large collections often focus on these large scale Orchestral performances.

I have no idea what the contents of this collection are like or what you feel would be fair compensation.

I’d like to explore more recordings within the scope of my general preferences.

If you feel there is enough material that I would be interested in we could discuss things further via PM.
