I am looking at this 6.5" driver because of the specs and FR response.
The idea is to used a closed box, as I have no experience with ports. Wouldn't want to go over 2nd or at most 3rd degree crossover.
To start with: which free programs can I use for speakers FR response, box design and xover design?
Where can I do to look at DIY speaker construction projects? I remember there was a site in Nord countries, Denmark I think, where there was an infinite number of projects. Going from affordable to very expensive.
My speaker options are very limited as I will from what Aliexpress is selling, and besides the Vifas most are unknown.

If you google DIY speakers NE180W there are a couple of design that come up. This one looks promising -

FYI. The speakers linked to in post #2 use the original RS28A tweeters which are NLA. The newer RST28A tweeters are not drop in replacements for the original and would require a crossover modification. I've also seen the Peerless NExx (xx = 65, 180, 225) speakers on AliExpress and their low prices. I'd be concerned that these are factory rejects. Not trying to rain on your parade, just thought you might want to know.
Hell In express 😉
I woud avoid too, this is a jungle w/o law.
Carlmat, try some 6" PRV drivers, while PA drivers some ref are said to be very good and at the level of most of hifi drivers. But as PA drivers they are not going to low bass enough... it would ask a 3 ways... There should be some DIY with those maybe ?
Vituixcad is certainly the best free to do all speaker design software. But if starting from scratch a first ready made design would be more straigthforward imho.
Can you source Dayton drivers easily ?

The main problem is finding a source for the NE180Ws. They're NLA in small quantities and most sellers don't want to invest in a min order of 500 pieces, amounting to 30k$. If you can find a pair of these drivers, they're very good and rival alot of higher priced drivers of its type. Ampslab did a design with the NE180W.

Diy Projects = HiFi Projects
Distributor in your Area = Digikey
You Could probably build 2way Alto
since Brazil Digikey stocks woofer / tweet
just a quick example, sure there is more
Disturbing news to know that AE is selling speaker factory rejects, which seems likely. Sometimes I wondered if Madisound wasn't doing something similar.
I've move the proposal for this 2-way, going from 6.5" to 8" for the bass-mid. I don't want a 3-way. Peerless also has the NE225W-04/08, which seems suitable. The SB 3/4" ring dome tweeter seems like a good candidate for the project.

3/4" will cross at 3 or 4000 Hz
8" 2 way is lots of fun
225W is a sub
but agree off axis a 3/4 will really hold up.
but your looking at a 3 way with a 4" or 3" mid
to cross that high
