looking at the last amp it looks alot like what i would want. Its pretty simple, and when looking at the tubes on ebay could be tubed for ~30, which is alot better than some of the tubes out there.
Now the question is how do i go about finding the right transformers and all that?

The 6EM7 is a tube that I can happily recommend as great sounding. I built an amp with virtually the same circuit as Gary Kaufman's, though the operating points were completely different. I used two NiMH batteries to bias the input stage, a 47k load resistor, 6k under the cathode of the output stage and 450V B+. Same 5k load.
I can say that it was a beautiful sounding amplifier, surprisingly good, really. But power at the speaker terminals was only about 0.5W; I found myself missing the 3+ watts of 2A3 muscle on 95dB speakers.
