i'm trying to design a new box for 2 sundown audio x8's to go in my extended cab. i removed the rear seats (true basshead move) so enclosure size is not an issue, my issue is all of the box plans and designs i can find are ones with port/ports on the same panel as the subs. in my truck it tends to sound better with subs forward and ports to the sides or ports anywhere but the front. i would really like to find box plans with subs forward and a port on each side aimed into each corner (my untested theory about what would sound best) any help or suggestions would be appreciated
Find the box plans for your loudspeaker and move the ports where you want. It is really that simple.
Edit: Just found the Thiele-Small parameters of Sundown Audio X8 - it need extremely small vented box, less than 1/2 cubic feet, so port is out of question, you must use two or three passive radiators.

I agree with Sonce. Passive radiator is probably the better way to go. PSi car audio make high excursion passive radiators, they don't have 8", but maybe a single 12" will work.Passive Radiators | Product Categories | PSI Car Audio. Good luck. And keep us posted.

i dont know anything about passive radiators and maxed out credit card to get 2nd x8. i have plenty of box building material on hand. (hobby) 2nd x8 is on its way but the one x8 i have now i built a cube vented box from sundowns specs and it sounds great, i emailed sundown an email with the same request but for dual x8's see what they tell me, thx for input guys, appreciate it
