well like glowbug said these L7's are ported drivers so two ported is most likely gonna be better.
my buddy has two of these ported and they are loud as hell ,not the cleanest sounding but like you said you just want noise. personally id rather have a mixture of both spl and sql

Hi everyboy 🙂
Thanks for the parameters BP1Fanatic 🙂
but for the pics of the box i can't see it at full size when i click on it 😕?

Hi guys 🙂
Thanks for the pics BP1Fanatic 😉
It's a good box 😎 but you must have a big car to put it in 😱
But i don't know the software is used to simulate the box 😕
someone know the software please ?
Thanks a lot 😉 🙂

i know i am new to this site, but not to car audio. Our primary box we sell is vented, every kicker woofer, l7 l5 cvr, had a ton of output for a short period of time, the voice coil on those woofers is not that large, as mentioned earlier, round CVX is an awsome vented box woofer. But if your are running 1200 rms (by the way, who and what kind of amp) a vented enclosure is way to efficient that amount of power, sealed box will help with over excursion of the l7 as the winding on the coil is shifted lower on the voice coil former, thats where power and sealed come in, sealed box will act like a vacuum to help contrl your xmax and protect the coil. As mentioned too, the factory spec box maybe wont sound the best, but kicker is funny about warranty issues. If you get them from an authorized dealer, the first blown woofer is replaced, the second has to be sent in or back leaving you without a speaker.
What kind of h/u are you using?curious, 4 amps would need a line driver to protect signal loss.

That's EXACTLY why I prefer to use BP1/FLH boxes and mount the voicoil in the vented or horn section of the box. The sealed section controls excursion below cutoff and the vented section keeps the voicecoil cool. I'm amazed how alot designers don't consider that when making front loaded horns. I would add the speaker's volume to the compression chamber. As you can see in my pics above, that is exactly what I did in my L7 box.sealed box will help with over excursion of the l7 as the winding on the coil is shifted lower on the voice coil former, thats where power and sealed come in, sealed box will act like a vacuum to help contrl your xmax and protect the coil.
that is a super funny looking box and it really peaked my interest. i would consider building a couple of these if i could somehow stand them vertically.
can i change the way the ports are aimed?
maveric you said "as the winding on the coil is shifted lower on the voice coil former" is this something specific to these speakers? do you mean that the coil sits lower on a L7 for some reason? the reason i ask is because i have the coils out of the speakers right now and i can place them any way i like when i put them back in.
i have 2 JBL amps driving the subs they are bp.1200.1. and i have 10 amps and the head unit i am using is just some cheap radio i found on sale for 99$ that has a tv in it. i never considered boosting the signal from the radio.

Seriously?
i am dead serious, this is my serious face.
i found the radio on sale at the local hardware store its called a freeway and it has a small tv in it so i can watch south park while stuck in traffic and use it as a back up cam. i had to take 4 of them back before i got one that actually worked. quality stuff man!

Les from ATL?
I do 154+ with a peavy with less power, j/k I hope this is Les from Atlanta and all around the world, this is Nate. Better Nate than never....🙂
What kind of car is this and what is your total box volume ? I have a 300zx that hits 153.0 db and it only has 1 -12" woofer but the box is 4.1 cubic ft.

I love it!

Now that's determination! If you wanted it that bad, I shall certainly keep comments to myself.
How are you dividing up the signal for all of those amps?

i built a little bus. its like a Y but with 5 legs and i have 4 of them on each channel out. as soon as i try to drive a single speaker from the deck it keels over and shuts off.
where would i get a signal amplifier from? is it needed? are the expensive?

they are just the same as a Y connector. on one end i have a male jack and on the other end i have 5 male jacks. i used RG6 cable line and just soldered everything together
You could also use a crossover that can drive multiple amplifiers instead of a line driver. I'd expect $50-$100 as an auction price for a very good one, and you may have more control over filter frequencies. I can recommend some if you're interested in that route.
As for current model line drivers, I'll let someone else recommend what they've worked with and like.

ok so now i am leaning away from 4 sealed because it seems that these L7s cant go into a sealed box or else my other option seems like i have to buy 4 new subs for sealed enclosures which would easly cost thousands of dollars to get subs that can handle the same or more power as the L7s can. i bought both l7s for 40$ with cooked coils after shipping and new coils i figure i am into them for around 150$. to jump to 4x1000$ speakers i would first need to consult with a divorce attorney.
so i am new to playing with the winisd program but i am thinking i wonder how small i can get ported boxes to be and i wonder if i cant just run 4 ported boxes? the boxes that GM helped me design are 6.3 cubic feet with a 8x28 port tund to 28 hertz. my idea is that is it possible to design a smaller box that is comprable to the estimated performance of the large box? if i can get a box that is around 3 feet i could probably fit 4 of them. but they need to handle to power i want to throw at these speakers.
i dont want to do all of this work for 3% increase so if someone could please give me advice.i guess i am revising my original question to " 2 large ported or 4 small ported" if i am going to all of this trouble to squeezing in all of this equipment in i want it to be noticably louder
