Can you tell us what cartridge you are asking about?
Normally I use // to imply the thevenin equivalent of two resistors in parallel. Not sure what the intent is here though. Could mean 1.2K to 2.7K load resistance range?

Was this stated concerning a cartridge or a preamp? The most common cartridge loading
is either 100 ohms or 47k ohms.
