hey all,
i'm kicking around ideas for a set of speakers. here's a question:
if i find a 2-way parallel setup i like, can i parallel a woofer circuit to make it a 2.5 way with the only caveat being a drop in impedance to 4 ohms?
thanks,
scott

In addition to the lower impedance within the overlapping ranges, relative phase of these drivers in the range where the .5 woofer is high passed(blended) with the other woofer, will not be aligned. Note that this does not pertain to the entire passbancd that these drivers operate toghether, only within the range that the two drivers are transitioning. At such low frequencies, this misalignement does tend to be percieved as a slight 'blur'. However, this effect is still minimal on the overall sound quality of the system IMO.
