Hi all
I have a monitoring dilemma, and maybe you guys can help me out a bit.
Centre of my monitoring setup is a Mackie Big Knob. From there, I have the possibility to select three pair of monitors (a,b,c)
As for monitor speakers, I have a pair of Auratones (diy DaveTones), and a subwoofer / satellite set (diy, satellites are audient A3S full rangers). All are active, so technically I could attach each item (auratones, A3s and subwoofer) to an individual monitor output. That way I can listen to the subwoofer alone, or in combination with the Auratones or A3S.
However, for a few reasons I am using a mini DSP unit to adjust the A3S. I had also planned to have that unit take care of the crossover filtering, since it is an 2 channel in - 4 channel out unit. In this case, the monitor output N of the Mackie would go into the DSP unit, channels 1-2 to the A3S and channel 3/4 to the subwoofer. I can nicely adjust both the high pass to the A3S as well as the low pass to the subwoofer from my computer. The downside is however, that the subwoofer is always used together with the A3S. Never alone, never with the Auratones... so.. what would you chose?
To make things even more unclear:
Cheers
Erik

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

You can't get there from here (seriously).
eeerrrrmmm..... I have less than no clue what you mean!
looks a bit like you are not completely familiar with my equipment...
I have this mini dsp:MiniDSP kit | miniDSPwith
This plugin
and this is the Big Knob

I am completely familliar with the mini DSP.
If you look, you will see that I am the very first poster on their forum.
If you can build from scratch, you could build a pin-diode switcher that would do what you need it to do. There would still be some level match issues on the sub.
I did a commercial design for a powerer sub many years ago that had adjustable levels from different inputs (2.1, 5.1), you would need something like that as well.
There is no easy way to get there from where you are, and I don't know what your design and construction skills are.
