Is there anything I need to be concern? and perhaps you have suggestions for these concerns?
Also looking for suggestions for recommendations for such high power supply. (example: like heatsinking the diodes)
Thanks in advance
- cheaper (looking at mouser, the cheapest 1KVA is only $50USD more than 500VA)
- lower footprint

Provided you limit the inrush current there should be no problems.
Have you a link to the 1kva transformer - it sounds too good to be true?

how? like a thermistor? something like this?Provided you limit the inrush current there should be no problems.

The inrush limiting goes in the primary.
This type of thing:

I use one for my Krell clone (300va toroid). The delay is a couple of seconds before the relay closes and bypasses the thermistors.

You don’t even necessarily need thermistors. Big 50 to 100 watt sand cast or dog bone style in the 4 to 20 ohm range work just as well if you bypass them with a time delay relay. you can even put a temp sensor (to force a shut down) on it in case the relay fails to close.
