Water Moderator?

Very nice amplifier project. I tried that cooling method with power resistors once...using distilled water of course. The burning question: how did you like the sound?

Did you ever calculate the overall gain after dropping it 50 per cent?

Thanks for posting the photos...looks like your buddy was impressed!

--The burning question: how did you like the sound?

He was using some Paradigm speakers and Denon,
he was happy with the sound and the gain issue wasn't
an problem, the Denon was able to drive the amplifier
(I had input gain knob on the amp).

I remember (barely), the amplifer has a 30 ampere current
meter on the front panel in series with one of the rails,
during load testing, the meter maxed out, during listening
tests using with his Paradigms playing loud, the current meter
barely moved, so I was never really able to push this amp.

It would have been nice to run a 0.5 - 1 ohm load per channel
with speakers, that would be the real test - heheh
It was exciting 10 years ago, not as much today,
there is some interesting designs I like with 2x more rail
voltage - hehe

Monster Truck Amplifiers is the "shiznit" LOL
