The red wires go to a switch for console/external speaker selection, and then to the amp. This was indeed the Deluxe model boasting two woofers, and three alternate inputs for Tape, Tuner, and an Aux input. The 4p2t input selector switch has finally given up the ghost, so it defaults to AM RADIO
