are the cones used in 18w discovery drivers identical or is there any differencies to the cones? the cones for 8424 feels very soft and flimsy and not semi ridgid as one described the cones for 8434
yes they look the same but i have my doubts that they are, or can the differencies in voice coil size alone make this difference?

The 8424 have lower xmax and lower breakup resonance, so it's more suited to midrange duty than for woofer/midwoofer task imo.
