So I am going to be building 2-4 18" TH's.
My requirements would be for them to be louder than my 4 ss15's (which I LOVE)
My Budget would be about $300-$400 for the speakers and maybe $80 for the wood, so about $500 per speaker cabinet...
My best option so far is the latest c/e/x pa flat to 30 design.

PASC built both, and wrote the Keystone has better cone control than the Xoc1 TH18, and measures a little louder on an SPL meter.Then I've been keeping up with the Keystone Sub and Xoc1's 18"

The Xoc1TH 18 has a bit less steep LF rolloff than the Keystone.
The Xoc1TH 18 uses slightly less truck space, and has quite a bit less frontal area than the Keystone. In multiples, the extra frontal area of the Keystone should give it more forward directivity (louder on axis) than the Xoc1TH 18.
The Keystone loaded with a B&C18SW115-4 has a similar sensitivity and frequency response shape as the JBL SRX 728. The B&C18SW115-4 has about 15 mm Xmax compared to about 9mm for the SRX 728, so given enough power can go quite a bit louder, and is a bit smaller.
The new B&C18TBW100-4 is cheaper (but heavier) than the neo 18SW115 and can go almost as loud.

I have been keeping up with all 18" Threads, so I have seen that.. but there is not one thread to compare and contrast all 3 of the ones that I am inquiring about... and If I am going to invest around $2,000 I want to get it done right the first time, with the best available option... The hardest part is not being able to hear them ahead of time.
I am super impressed by the SS15 and If I didn't do super large events from time to time, I would be perfectly fine with the 4 SS15s.

I've heard 4 SRX 728s and that's what I want.. Ground/Wall Shaking Bass at an 800 PPL event inside a 20k sqare foot building.
So maybe the Keystone Is the best option, my only concern is.. Looks and it seems as if it would be hard to pole mount a speaker on top of it...

Jbell... the tradeoff is space requirement in my trailer... I also do Lighting Decor, so my uplights take up a lot of real-estate in my trailer... So 4 is the max I have room for in my trailer (6x12) That thought did cross my mind, to build 4 more... I do love the weight difference..

It will be very hard to beat the SS15 on a dB/ft^3 basis. Also, why limit yourself to a specific constructions? If you like the B&C 18TBW100 it's easy enough to design a fitting model in Hornresp, and you can push the SPL/low frequency extension point to where you want it. Then you can still pick a basic layout from all the ones here as a starter point, or you can optimize the form factor for your requirements. This topic has now been around long enough, that you can arrive at predictable results in the model, if you have a quality driver with known T/S parameters.

Buy a driver, make an adapter plate board and try it out. It'll give you an A vs B of what you currently have, and will help you make a decision on how to move forward.

If you are really concerned about space and want maximum output per cabinet you should go with the B&C sw115 in the keystone. And for four of them you'd better have 8000rms + to really shake things up.
Art is using 2000rms per cabinet if I remember correctly and has stated he would like double that for each!
I know you have a budget but in your case it might be worth it in the long run to save a little longer and go with the better driver and bigger amps.

5/8" ply, cut approx 18x22 plate (so that it fits your ss15, but overhangs in the back.)
draw line where it overhangs and trim like shown.
take some of your trimmed plywood and glue it in place like shown to 'fill.'
Assuming this is temporary, use door and window foam, and make sure you can get a good seal between the plate and the ss15 when you screw it in place. (paying close attention to the foam on the edges of the 'fill' area)

Both drivers well exceed Xmax @ 2000W into 8 Ohm; what that translates to in real world program power is anyone's guess. For four drivers the difference is $760.16, for my money I'd go with the 18TBW100.

In my simulations the 18TBW100 reaches Xmax in the 600W-650W range. Pushing the low frequency corner up in the SS15 gets you to about 1200W/Xmax @ 59Hz; @ 1500W you're still below the Xvar=14mm, I guess that's what you were looking at.

I would love to keep to 2 speakers per PLX 2402 so this sounds good... Do you have the hornresp graph please? I am on a mac and I cannot load it at this time.
