as promised, shame you guys dont post. probably some of the best woodwork on the entire moving image section. 17" Panel has had the antiglare removed if i had not mentioned it. 3Lens did not get my fresnels here in time so im using standard lumenlab 15" fresnels until they arrive. Should lose an 1inch in width, but will at least be able to somewhat enjoy all this work.

thats awesome. I love working with wood and have a shop of my own. but to be honest, I'd probably use MDF and paint it all silver or black.. 🙄
I'm very curious to see the finished project, looks like your spending a lot of worth while time on this thing.

finished it up, about to fire it up for the first time 🙂. Got it in my dads theater until i go back to school. It looks really odd sitting in between two velvet movie chairs, but im expecting it to look better then the projecter my dad currently uses down there (olllllllld sharpvision 480p MAX projecter)
Will post screenies late tonight or tomorrow.
Cheers

Watched my first movie on the beast 🙂.
Adjustable bulb and reflector from outside the box are a must have. Real easy to get her dialed in correctly. The colors seemed more hhmm saturated then my last projecter. Maybe the anti glare removal helped, maybe it didnt. It doesnt take a PHD in optics to know a layer of anything is going to impact light passthrough. I never once used the LCD with the layer on, so i will never know. All i do know is we watched the entire movie, with no tweaks to the video feed (gamma/contrast/brightness/hue/saturation all those toys) and didnt have any trouble at all viewing dark scenes. Not to mention we never covered or masked off the light pouring out the top vent holes, or out the back fan grills. My old projecter i had to practically cover them up completly to view anything dark.
I hope to have some actual screen caps come monday night / tuesday. Cameras do not really tell the true story, as my olympus will probably greatly exagerate(sp) the brightness. That being said ill do my best to document with accuracy. I do not seek to mislead or fool anyone.
What you will see, is what ive got.

Yeah! No editing 😉
I would like to see how you approached adjusting light and
reflector from outside of the box.
It appears not to be healthy to be exposed to full blow UV and
I imagine you have to get lamp going to see what is going on.
I was planning on ski mask and googles but more comfortable solution
would be appreciated 🙂
Cheers!
