Hi. ive just stripped a lcd 17 inch samsung syncmaster 710v which was very easy and the ribbon was just perfect.
I am also buying a ohp and retro fitting a 400 watt HID lamp into this.
So as this is 17 inch and the ohp is only 14 inch , i was thinking of creating a box around the lcd to hide the 3 inch overhang of the ohp. just like a picture frame if you know what i meen.
now is there a pc program that could scale lets say a video or a game down to 14 inches? as it is a monitor and will be running from the pc.
Cheers guys

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

program called powerstrip should allow you to scale down to fit your screen. And personally, I would not worry about the donation other than going to the webmasters of the forum. It is an open forum afterall

cheers m8. about this IR. i have some wierd looking filters that came out of the back of this monitor. can i use this?
"ir" was meant to be "or"
Anyways - what do the filters look like? Are they diffuser sheets? kind of hazy/whitish looking sheets? If so, there's no use to them really. They're used to even out the light that comes from the backlighting fluorescent tube so that the screen lights up evenly when in normal operation. If used for projection, you want the screen as transparent as possible
