I want to upgrade my old 15" woofer in my 140 liters 2 way diy loudspeakers.
I'd like to have a good bass but I need to crossover at 3500 Hz.
I saw those speakers:
Dayton Audio DC3808
Monacor SPH-390TC (subwoofer)
MCM Audio 55-2974
MCM Audio 55-2963
Anybody knows this woofers?

Anything above 1k for pretty much any 15" is too much for hi-fi.
Sure there is sound but that lo-fi for me.

OK, lets assume you really need to cross over at 3K. Only off the shelf 15" woofer I know and frequenty use is the Eminence KL15CX-8. Truely flat on axis up to 4Khz. Designed to be that way. Way better than the curve Eminence posts for it. But it is pricey. If I had to do it, this is what I would use!

Fane FC-153F01 is one of the highest going 15". it has copper shorting ring and costs under 200€
Is there 1" dome above or why it needs 3-3.5k xo?
I like Fane FC-153F01 and it doesn't cost too much. My dubt is about Fs=40Hz that is like my actual woofer. Instead Xmax is much higher than mine!
I saw some THD and frequency response grafhs and I didn't understand the exact reason for not use some 15 inch woofer till 3000 Hz

crossing a 15" driver at 3000hz?! what about the beaming? Faital Pro 15PR400 is good in1 140l BR box but at 3khz it would beam badly with less than 30 degree of dispersion
if you want to take long enthusia path of hi-fi hobby, buy 15" your heart says to get.
15" dispersion can be tampered with waveguides jbl uses.
it is so much listener depend things what we are talking about.

My point may not be relevant.. but is the ribbon surviving where it is due to low Xmax of the current 15" driver? What if you put a 15" in there with much larger xmax... Could this destroy the ribbon?
