15" stroker bottoming out
ok check it out i have a cerwin vega stroker 15s 4ohm and i have it in a ported box. i have a bd1000a1 amp thats 500w x 1 @ 4ohms and 1000w x 1 @ 2ohms. therefore its only getting 500w. could this have any effect on the fact that the dang thing keeps bottoming out once its turned up. honestly im pretty pissed off about it because i have heard so much about this sub and now it sounds like *** please someone help me out it would be greatly appreciated. the ported box has two four inch ports leading into a smaller chamber with one 6x4" square port leading out of the box. the box is roughly 5cubic feet could it possibly have to do with the upper spider adjustment.

DonoMan he can't hear you he is now deaf.
gqfromgp Your box doesn't sound properly built it sounds like there is to much volume or the ports are to big, Allowing to much air in and out thus letting the stroker bottom out.

What frequency is the port tuned to? And is it getting information below tuning? If so you are begging for it to bottom.
it cant be the volume and the box is a possibility but it was built to the stroker specs. does anyone know where the upper spider adjustment is supposed to be set since the guy i bought it from apparently moved it
Re: 15" stroker bottoming out
You need to describe the box better.
Are the ports 4" in diameter or 4" long? Why are they leading into another ported chamber? Where is the driver firing?
