15" Screen too big for my OHP - Suggestions?
Hi,
First time poster but long time reader of the forums.
My conundrum is the fact that my LCD is too big and my OHP fresnel lens is too small.
The 15" samsung 510n monitor has dimensions of about 31cm x 24cm but the fresnel lens on my OHP is around 25.4cm x 25.4cm. so I lose around 5.6 cms on the sides.
I thought powerstrip was the answer to my prayers but the good guys at samsung (bless their hearts) have screwed me. Whenever I attempt to shorten the width of the screen to fit on the OHP the monitor automatically adjusts itself to get rid of any unused space on the monitor.
#1 does anyone know how to disable the autoconfiguration on the samsung monitors? or how to use powerstrip to get around the autoconfiguration issues? (Just got off the phone with samsung, can't disable autoconfiguration )
#2 As another option I was thinking of using a different fresnel lens, more specifically this one
DIYPC Lens
Would I need the 22 or 33cm focal length lens? to use on an OHP?
I guess I would need the 12.5" x 12.5" lens
or this fresnel lens on ebay
Ebay Fresnel Lens
I've taken the top portion of the OHP off so I just have to cut a wider hole in the wood paneling to allow more light through.
Which would you guys recommend and would this work with my OHP?
thanks
Phil

i would just use powerdvd for playing movies and adjust the window size of the movie for a easy fast fix....or use the bigger fresnel.
