15 inch bass for sealed cabinet, suggestions needed

Oh wow, a 3500 W 15" subwoofer with a 7.5" coil. Two coils. $750 AUS what a bargain.
I'm working with two 15" Eminence DeltaPro-15A which I bought for $169 US. 400 w limit qt .4 Fs 42 hz vas 243 L so it can go sealed or ported. Qes .44 for those that care. 4.3 mm xmax. 101.6 db 1w1m Has aluminum frame so self magnetization is limited. 2.2 kg of alnico magnet. Useable 54 hz to 4.2 khz they claim. DELTA PRO-15A - Loudspeakers | Eminence Speaker
Cheaper than the Dayton if I read correctly.
Eminence is recommending 28-42.5 L sealed & 57-133 L vented for some reason.

Hi everyone

What would you recommend as a 15 inch bass driver for strong deep LF output in a sealed 50-75 litre cabinet?

Upper crossover will be around 200 Hz, as front main Hifi speakers, secondary use as front HT speakers.
I bought the Dayton RSS390HF-4 a while ago, I haven't used them yet but I still think they are great value drivers for us in Australia as the shipping from Parts express wasn't outrageous.

You could also look at pro drivers like the B&C 15BG100, from TLHP a pair of those shipped to QLD was 618 EURO which is $968 or thereabouts today.

The shipping is expensive for these sort of drivers but I have found PE and TLHP to be the most reasonable and deliver fairly quickly.

I planned to use the Dayton in a 450 to 500mm cubeish enclosure which would be close to your suggestion. A 15 will struggle to fit in an enclosure smaller than that.

What does the rest of your system consists of?
Room size?
Power available?

The room is 6m x 4.2m. The other qns: I am starting from scratch with the concept for new speakers. So power, system etc is not pre-determined or a limit on what you all might suggest. I am starting with this driver issue because it is the one that I know least about. Like I said in my OP: it does need to be sealed, volume is limited, there will be corner gain (some numbers that have been provided appear not to consider this?), and there will be dedicated subs but I want these to go as low and deep as they can to contribute as extra subs.

Regarding the ‘can’t do it’ comments: the SVS SB2000 Pro and SB3000 sealed subs use smaller drivers and would more than meet my needs, and their box volume is not huge, so why say ‘can’t get decent output’?

Thanks for all comments so far. I am still absorbing them — a bit busy with work at the moment. Please keep the suggestions coming.

Cheers

I still hold to my original suggestion. A 15" driver that has to move decent air, work to 200hz, and at a reasonable price.

Dayton makes good subs with great value as well. They are true subs that give up sensitivity for flat extension to the 30's or lower.

PA style woofers have higher sensitivity above 60'ish hz. You can expect them to deliver more "punch" when leaned on. Room gain can certainly help the bottom end. Corner loading will make for some impressive output.

110db half space. Theoretically +9db for corner loading. Around 120db at 40hz. I think that should get the job done.

Well, as I took pains to point out, you left me no choice as to what 'deep' meant, so chose worst case to meet all your obscure requirements and neither of these meet it based on its limited specs, but now we know, so should be doable, though assuming times haven't changed, they use proprietary components, ergo might not be as compact nor as cheap depending on what the components will cost.

As for corner gain, it depends on the room acoustics/construction as to how much of the +9 dB in a zero loss sim one can count on, so historically have ignored it by design to allow EQ, extra acoustic dynamic headroom to offset some of the driver's running out of Xmax down low.

The Lavoce woofers that Ernie recommended look good and are more sub oriented than the B&C, but the B&C are flatter at 200Hz and above if that is important.

The weight is an issue for shipping the Lavoce though being 17.9Kg each. When I put those into TLHP the price is only 4 Euro's cheaper than the B&C due to the weight. The shipping is more than the cost of the drivers.

For those in the US with Parts Express free shipping not an issue but for Aussies the shipping can destroy the value like in this case. Often Neo woofers often end up being cheaper overall even if the raw driver cost is higher.

Can you please explain why you insist on 15in driver?
Especially since there will be extra subs, if I understood well. Is there any special reason?

For deep and strong bass out of such smallish sealed box you need alot of moving mass per cone surface, big Xmax and high power handling.
I would rather go with two smaller 12in units in isobaric arrangement. That gives you 2 times more power and moving mass per cone surface and in theory 1,4 times lower F3 compared to single unit in same cabinet size.

here only SBA produced locally but no driver suitable for my needs : low Fs, decent xmax, small Vas. which made me had to choose car subwoofer where usually categorized as SQL.

my choice was Infinity kappa perfect 12.1 in dual-opposed configuration and made it 2 box left & right corner, got 4 drivers @$120/each as 2nd item really best price/value

instead of importing big and heavy drivers, look at JLAudio W6 12" and find 2nd item, usually available in car audio market

sneak peak of my below project for dual-opposed :
Need help : sealed infinity kappa perfect 12.1

forget about isobaric, go for dual-opposed

... Hmmmm.

Looking about, I guess the P. Audio HP-15W MKII would be ok in a H baffle or closed box, not for crazy volume levels but should be adequate for most.
P.Audio HP-15W MkII 300 Watt 15 Inch Low Frequency Woofer - Cannon Sound And Light

Double P.Audio HP-12W in parallel would probably be better for your needs, xmax is low at 2mm so not well suited for insane volume levels but it should be enough for most.
P.Audio HP-12W 12 Inch 100 Watt Mid Bass Woofer - Cannon Sound And Light

P.AUDIO P150/2226MKI is well suited for a vented larger enclosure, can play quite loud.

Not sure where else you are considering to order from, moving random stuff to Oz gets pricy fast.

For lack of response, I'm just throwing out a few shops in Oz that have drivers for sale.
Speaker Drivers | Wagner Online Electronic Stores

Loudspeaker Components Loudspeaker Drivers

Speaker Components - Woofers, Compression Drivers, Horns - Cannon Sound And Light

(Small stuff here):
DIY Speaker Kits

Not sure if this helps any.

Edit:
This SB driver on the Wagner site looks like value to me, nice parameters for a closed box too!

Edit2:
I see that wes.com.au is the distributor for SB there. Not sure how the shop works as it's really cumbersome IMO. But they got a good selection from the Audience line on page 478 in their catalogue:
