Scott- with you and Cal present, men without shirts is a given - we will try to have a certified industrial first aid attendant on site to triage those who might faint at the sight
And please, try to avoid topless-ness at dinner time

Excellent. I'll make sure to arrive during daylight hours so I can see what I'm doing.
Thanks Dave.

Thanks Dave.

Plans are that DaveR, TerryO and I will be traveling together again this year. I missed last year and regretted but probably was good to have some R&R from all that Norwegian influence. Anxious to see everyone.

Pretty rotten way to treat your Scandihoovian Buddies I'd say! Ever since Mr. Planet10 discovered he was part Norwegian and Gary Dahl who is wonderfully Norske in all aspects, it would seem that you're treading on some pretty thin ice you Bagpipe Blowing Bindlestiff!! Sleep with one eye open, do ya?
Captain "X"
Scots are really just Norwegians in disguise, aren't they?
I've heard that the Scots got their Red Hair from the Norsemen. That would certainly indicate some form of familiarity. In fact, I watched a recent program where they tested the DNA in parts of Scotland and the offshore islands. Some areas had very few (if any) genetic markers, while other areas had a very high percentage of Norwegian genetic markers.

Remind not to watch TV at your place. You get only one channel?
Cal,
If it's the right channel, who cares?

All Canadian, but If the grandparents on my dad side were close to purebread, then ¼ slavic, ¼ polish, ⅛ norwegian, ⅜ a mongrel mix of all of the UK & Ireland (bar Wales), French, indiginous Americans, and who knows what else.

go back far enough in any family tree, and your ancestors were climbing in one
it could be argued that bipedal walking aside, some of us have evolved not that far from those feces throwing primates

Any idea what part of Mongrollia they were from? Perhaps Kansas or Oklahoma?
Terry- as you know, 3 of the 5 most ethnically diverse cities in USA are on the southern west coast - so it'd have to be California.
I my case, 50% 1st generation Ukapolaranian on dad's side, and the standard dog's breakfast of "UK" on mom's.
Brandon, Manitoba - one of those delightful little prairie hamlets of which it has been said " a great place to be from" - as in my parent's couldn't wait to leave fast enough in '53

Received this notice:
Notice has been received that the bridge at the bottom of Finlayson Arm on the Millstream side will be undergoing maintenance over a time period that includes this years diyFEST so it may be necessary to come up from the Goldstream Park side.
Given Highlands past history who know when they will actually do it. I will keep posting the most up to date info.
The map in post 1 now sports an X at the potential discontinuity.
