Does somebody seen good results ever?
Lot of people sais they have "corner to corner focus" but i actually never have seen it. I only hear people having problems focusing full screen, some with 330 field fresnell that will do things more harder to focus, but can someone post a photo of this setup working ok?
i don´t mean full screen photos from the back of the room, no no i mean photos like this where the real focusing is checkable;

i chalenge you to post good results here on this thread. 😀
good luck

ok, thanks inkog, i have followed you a bit on some trheads.
good luck with your setup. And please, be honest 😀 if you have not good results, do not hide them, please share it, i think everibody can help here we can find solutions in teamwork :d
Now i have started to receive information about some critical limits this setup would have (maximun trhow...,... ) now it lloks like it isn´t soo easy to get corner to corner focus there...

the next time my projector is in its 4:3 position i will snap some photos. We have a widescreen setup so most of the times the corners do not impact our viewing experience. It is very very clear with in 4:3 computer game though mode.
Just would like to say something before you post pictures;
write down all the information as posible, throw, image size, image rate...
and would like to see photos such as this as chose; (full secreen, and then close enough so each pixel can be count 😀)
This is corner to corner focus:

those who bla bla bla, those who bla bla bla 😀 😀 (in a humor way)
😀 my patience is huge i started asking about the field angle of 135 3 months before, and i am like the first day right now 😀.
i know it is not easy taking photos of projections, take your time do not worry. Just remenber to post them here when you got any.

Take it easy friends 😀

from minoten's 15.4" wuxa site:
One problem is the optics in this setup, the 135mm triplet I am using cannot seem the focus the whole screen¡The edges appear blurry and so do some of the corners¡
you may follow his updates to see if he had any solutions.

thats the ony rason i started this thread for. There is people saying he has corner to corner focus with this setup. I just wanted them to share it, no luck by now.
Hi Rox,
I don't think you will see that picture.
Regarding this lens and the 17" screens it is supposed to handle:
Let me make sure I got this straight. The 17" screen is 430mm corner to corner which is the same as the diameter of the focused plane this lens should handle at the stated focal length. See diagram.
with 550fl you need the lens to handle 43deg
with 650fl you need the lens to handle 37deg
Maybe DIY asked for a lens that could do the width of the screen forgetting the corners are wider? Or they thought the 24 deg was the half angle? Either way the lens description needs to be fixed at those stores to describe what the lens can actually do.

i know 17" pictures won´t be posted here because it is not posible (always speaking at rasonable throws).
anyway, this is for 15" lcd diyers and 135triplet (thing that i belive would hardly be posible also, at critical trhows, the image will start to lose quality as well as 17" but i believe it would be "better" image) i started this thread for those people that claim it is posible, but no luck yet. (I think no posting of results demostrates the setup is wrong by design, if you do not think this way, then post results 😀)
the estated Field angle is 24 full degrees (12+12 half angles), so it is matematically imposible design, but there is some people that doesn´t want to understand.
Some people say the lens are designed to cover 11"square area as well, but the lens was originaly designed to use on OPAQUE PROYECTORS, and the trhows those tools use is very small, so the 11" square source doesn´t mean it will work on 15" lcds. The main spec is the field angle spec, and this is known (24 degrees). Now is you still find this lens usable for your design, i won´t stop you.
