Hi guys, I've been having quite a bit of fun making small hardwood enclosures for a single fullrange speaker. Now I'm ready to take the next step and create a self powered little cube. I've been testing out modules, but most that I find are stereo, and it feels like I might be wasting some money with these.
I have a TDA8932 and a TPA3001D1 coming in the mail but thought somebody else might be able to provide me with some more suggestions. The tpa3116 is tempting and well reviewed, but I don't think I would see any benefit to a single speaker running it in BTL mode.
My dream board would have a simple 25watts mono, bluetooth and a mono DSP channel, haha. Maybe in the future!
Here's a pic of one of my cubes.

Buy a Sonos Play-1 and strip out the guts - gives you all the amp and dsp you need plus the software to operate it all (I've head thoughts along these lines recently - just bought a Sonos Play 1 for my sister).
Haha I had thoughts of that myself, but at 200 dollars can't stomach it. I thought of stuffing a mini DSP 2x4 inside, but that's still quite spendy. And if I am going to those lengths, then I'd probably like something better than bluetooth for my source.
I'm going to build a bunch of these to give away to friends and relatives, so I might have to drop the DSP dream.

Just for fun try turning the speaker box so that the driver is facing upwards, maybe put it on the floor and see if you like what that does for you.
