I am designing reference monitors (nearfield) with dayton rs150p 4a and a SEAS 27TDFC H1189.
should i use 12mm with 2 internal horizontal braces or 18mm mdf. internal box volume 10.5L
thanks.

1/ MDF is not great speaker building material.
2/ even with quality plywood we found 12mm hard to work with, settling on 15mm in those cases.
3/ 10 litres is not that big, a braced 12mm cabinet made of quality plywood would work well… likely better than 18mm MDF.*
4/ braces: a brace should divide the panel in such a manner that the aspect ratios of the subpanels should be greater than the panel being braced. This rule essemtaily says, vetical braces will be much more effective than the horizontal ones.
*(10 litre box can likely bhe built out of “scraps”. I know that good ply is dear these days, you might want to se eif Stefanb at KJF has off-cuts you could buy to avoid having top get a whole sheet)
