Looks like that 6JZ8 has a nice constant Mu 20 triode in it. The 6LU8 triode is higher Mu at 58 and fairly constant, and the 6LU8 has got better voltage and wattage ratings. Maybe the 6JZ8 for driver duty. The 6LU8 gets used for spud amps frequently.
I used 24JZ8 as a driver in an amp with MOSFET source follower output. Also, I used in similar application 8AL9. Pentodes triode strapped.
