Wanna try pentode based ccs for 12ax7 on cathode follower part of it, after good results with LTP on PP amp.
Should I even try? Which pentode for 1-1.1ma current is good to play with? Maybe ef86?

Typical common small pentodes are 6AU6, 6EJ7, EF86, etc. The problem is that if you made one of THEM a CF they would be more suited for it than a 12AX7, which has pitiful transconductance 😀
sure, i understand this, but this is factory schematic i am trying to improve. one 12ax7 half gain stage one half cathode follower.
Improving the cathode follower is unlikely . But one could use a CCS instead
of the amplification stage plate resistor.
