I need an equivalent Metal halide lamp in brightness and heat output to a 120W UHP lamp. Would I need a 120W MH lamp or are the UHP more brighter and output more lumens per wattage. Any help appreciated.
I know this is an old post but for anyone reading.
Mercury Arc Lamps (UHP, UHB) produce 75 - 100 lumens per watt.
Metal Halide Lamps produce 65-115 lumens per watt.
Compact Fluorescent produce roughly 50 lumens per watt.
High Pressure Sodium (HPS) produce roughly 50–140 lumens per watt.
LED's produce roughly 100 lumens per watt.
You do the math. Lumens can vary with different manufacturer's these are just base numbers.
