12" woofer from 35 hz to 300hz.

why 12" if you want a pro woofer ?
a few might work ok for hifi bass
but most will have high Fs and better suited for midbass stage floor monitors etc

try look at real pro studio/audio woofers like the 18FH500 or 18FH510, Faital Pro

efficiency is no problem, meaning that I dont need to match the effciency of my FR with my woofer.
I however want my woofer to be as efficient as possible, but it seems that 93 db will be the most efficient I can go if I also want deep bass, or at least a 35hz -3

I want 12 inch because its the biggest that can fit in my room and the only size that could do the 35hz, a 10 inch wont...

I think ill go with the beyma 12b100r, but I would have liked that someona could inform me what would be the difference between the
beyma 12b100r Beyma Speakers - Beyma 12B100R speaker - Beyma 12B100R 300 watt 12" woofer for all hi-fi and studio monitor bass speakers. Beyma 12B100R and other Beyma 12" speakers here. and the
12br70 Beyma Speakers - Beyma 12BR70 speaker - Beyma 12BR70 250 watt 12" woofer for all hi-fi and studio monitor bass speakers. Beyma 12BR70 and other Beyma 12" speakers here.

the 12br70 is much cheaper, why is that? it shows pretty much the same spec... For my application, is it really worth it to go for the 12b100r, or the 12br70 would do perfectly well?

thanks

I want a pro drivers because I have been suggested then the dynamics are better.

A lot of things contribute to "dynamics". Efficiency, Cooling, BL Symmetry, Suspension linearity, inductance linearity, and available power being some of them. Inductor saturation can be another. However if you want deep bass extension from a 12" driver, you won't likely want use drivers with ultra high pro sound efficiency - so looking at prosound drivers is pretty pointless. A good balance is a good idea. I think the Acoustic Elegance TD12S is certainly a fine choice on that note.

It's certainly not the only option though. A few other suggestions I would make would be this:

SB Acoustics :: 12" SB34NRXL75-8

and this:

Volt Loudspeakers - RV3143

Also, instead of a single 12" woofer, you can get really good results with a pair of superior 8" woofers. The biggest advantage of that approach is that you can spread power handling between multiple voice coils - and have a thinner cabinet while you're at it. Consider a pair of these:

Instead of a single 12.

For some reason PE won't let me see some of the reviews even though there is four of them.🙁

I used the ones they have spec'd in the Ad.

jer 🙂

P.S. Oooops,I may not have modeled that one yet as I don't see it in my drivers list.....Sorry!!
I do like the specs though.
I will model it shortly and if there are some different parameters please post them as I can't get to the reviews.
Thanks !!

Correction I did model it as I thought I did I just used a different name for it.

Here it is with two in a sealed 3 cubic foot enclosure at 100 watts with a Linkwitz Transform Filter on it.(yellow line)

You can get similar results with one in a ported enclosure at 200 watts without the filter in a 5.25 cubic foot tuned to 24.13Hz with less excursion. (green line)

But with a higher group delay at the low end.

In a small room with the room gain you probably won't need the filter or at least not very much of it.

jer 🙂

okay, I dont want any Dayton or any cheap woofer. have you guys heard any Dayton audio. how do they perform?

I want quality hifi stuff and I doubt that Dayton audio or T3 audio is hifi

anyways, if anyone can tell me the difference between the two beyma driver I mentionned, it would be great.

I do no want any subwoofer driver, I want a woofer because I want that woofer to be used up to 1200khz one day.
I do not want any cheap dayton drivers. I'm looking for something a little bit better.

thanks for all your recommendation, but I'm looking at beyma, AE and maybe eminence, nothing under that...

Apparently, this is what is on the box...

FR 25-250, Fs- 32Hz, Qts- .79 Vas- 70lt. Spl 86.5 db VC diameter 1.5"
They don't give a Qes....

Let me tell ya'
If I had to choose one manufacturer and I could only use their products....
Dayton would be my choice.

The dayton drivers I listed are far better for this application than the ones you have mentioned. Far better.

Quote ~"okay, I dont want any Dayton or any cheap woofer. have you guys heard any Dayton audio. how do they perform?"

Dayton Drivers are Dayton audio and they are not cheap quality neither is T3 audio.

The frequency range of the T3 Audio T200-12S4 is 30Hz to 1500.

Anyhow I did three more sims to show if you want extreme on a budget it can be had with this driver.

Here is 4 drivers in a 5.3 cubic foot sealed enclosure at 200watts and again with a Linkwitz Transform filter.
That is only 50watts per driver so there is no chance of blowing these out by their spec's.

Two of these cabinets will put you at 121db with room to spare and nearly flat to 25Hz.

You never stated how high of an SPL you are shooting for and no single 12" driver can get that loud that low as it takes a lot of displacement to do so.

Especially at 30Hz and even more just to get to 20Hz or without having a very large enclosure and driver !!!

I am not trying to sell you any particular driver as that is your choice.
I am just showing you what could be done and still have quality and performance within the $300 budget that you have stated.

FWIW !!!

enjoy !!

jer 🙂

what is your experience with dayton audio. what product have you tried?
why Dayton would be much better then beyma's?
where in the spec do you see that?
