I've just placed a bid on a 12.1" flat panel monitor on ebay.co.uk
I've been reading a lot about you guys who are brave enough to rip LCD screens apart, and may have a play myself.
Feel free to bid against me on this item if you think it is any good - it is a Taxan 625, if that means anything to anyone.
Would this model be a nightmare to strip down and use DIY ?

Just seen the specs on a scandanavian website - pretty basic, and the contrast ratio is worryingly poor -oh well.......

Hi Henrik,
Did you get this monitor in the end? If so what do you think of it? I know resolution (800x600) and contrast ratio (120:1) leave something to be desired but the response time (20ms) is good and size is right for an OHP.

No, I didn't Cliveski.
I put in a speculative bid - basically what I felt I could lose if the project went pear-shaped.
I am however on the look out for a cheap LCD to rip apart.
Maybe I'll try using an old laptop LCD - I have one knocking around somewhere. I'll let you know if I have any success.
Are you DIY'ing yourself - or using a projection panel ?

I'm using an Ask Impact 24 panel at the moment which is fine but I want a greater resolution to make the most of the new DVD player I've just bought. Therefore I'm looking into getting a 1024x768 panel of some description. I'm happy to DIY, but don't really want a 15" panel as it would make my image way to big for my room.
