Plott,
Good to see that you've got most of the parts for the speaker - look forward to build updates. 🙂

Thank you for the update AS8812! So glad that you are pleased with the sound. The FH9HVX is a perfect amp pairing.
Very nice build!

Very nice build!

Hi As8812,
I finally looked at your CAM files. Very nice - that’s a whole lot of work to produce those STEP files for anyone to take to a CNC shop and have a flat pack ordered.
Thank you!

Appreciate it everyone - thanks again XRK for coming up with this speaker design in the first place.
Cheers, I just uploaded the files that I sent to a couple of shops for quote, I just wanted to make sure it was laid out correctly with respect to grain/the good birch side lol.

Hi as8912,
could you please explain the function of the two closed chambers in the bottom as they were no part of the original design? Thanks in advance.

They add height to speaker and can be filled with sand etc. not that it needs more weight to be stable. Some people prefer higher speaker height to ears.
I have a new set of TL's being built by my cabinet maker for a friend. I have never used this pyramid foam before but it looks pretty good. I need to get working on assembling the XO boards.

I am a pretty happy camper. I just happen to have 2 of the RS225-8's on the way to my house. I bought them off a fellow Canadian whom lives in the same province I do, so I saved some money on the transaction. Now I have to work on securing some 10F/8424's.
There is one 10F/8424 for sale in the US, I may scoop it, and then search for another one. Will have to think about this before taking the plunge. Would be nice to find a deal on 2 of them.
Later,
MM

You can also use 10F/8414, or Visaton B80. All will work well. The B80 has a slightly different crossover but similar. You could even do a budget version with TC9FD. Other options include 3FE25-8 or 3FE22-8.

I am glad if you could show build pictures here step by step especially for the damping.
Hi Potstip,
Here are some more photos. I’ll show you all that I have as we go. Here are some more. The poly fill damping is pretty straightforward. Fill closed end to the top of the speaker at the 180deg turn. Adjust to taste or by taking impedance sweeps with a DATS. Approximate volume of poly fill same as two size No 5 soccer balls. If bass sounds too boomy, add more.
