I have a Lilliput 7" LCD, but when I run it at 1024x768 it is stretched and so are the movies I play (DVD, divx, xvid, ...)
So, would it be possible to run 1024x768 and treat it as widescreen?

Some DVD players like PowerDVD allow you to enable anamorphic viewing by selecting some option in menu (I think it was on right-click mouse menu, some thing like "show original size ..." don't remember, try them all). Then the lput makes the scaling. With latest powerdvd you can also view divx.
