I've been wanting to replace my Boss GE7 for a while with a 10 band EQ something like the MXR 10 band or the (discontinued) B.Y.O.C kit (graphiceq). I need it to be portable/on battery, so MXR goes. And I can't get the BA3812L chip locally.
Is there something similar to the BA3812L chip I can use?
Also, generalguitargadgets.com has a schem for a 6 band using TL074 chips (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_eq6b_sc.pdf?phpMyAdmin=78482479fd7e7fc3768044a841b3e85a). Can this be expanded to 10 bands?
Yes. I am a rank amateur.

Facepalm
Ha lol. Google reigns supreme. Again.
Can this be run off single 9v battery you reckon?

The schematic shows it as a dual supply design not a single supply design so a single 9v won"t work unless you change the design for single supply ......
Yes that 6 band circuit can be expanded into a 10 band design, the op amp stages act as inductors. 1/2piRF will tell you what capacitor values you want for a given frequency. looks like all the resistors are the same. so you could just choose a few apporximate values that fit into a similar series.
a 9v battery can be used to make a dual supply of +/- 4.5v. which is shown on the first schematic.
Ok, but the GGG schematic shows a single 9v supply connects to (a) and (b) OR 2x 9v connects to (a) (b) and (c). Does this mean it I can omit the (c) section entirely? I'm confused.
How would I add the extra bands? Add another TL074?
