0.5 woofer on a 2.5way

Satori mw16 are praised for their midrange, but here and there I've read some bad opinions on their bass performance being lumby, slow, soft, subwooferish etc.

For money saving and since there are probably some better drivers on the bass department, could I use another driver for the 0.5 woofer?
If yes, should it be at its own volume? I guess it should be same impendance and sensitivity?

It can be a different woofer. Considering that it would have different specifications and probably plays lower, the chances are a different enclosure is best. The impedance should be high enough to not cause a problem for the amp when in parallel with the mw16, unless you want to use a separate amp. Series connection would not be simple here.

Sensitivity is reasonably important. If you use less than the mw16 you can apply less than 6dB of compensation, as is often wanted however if you use more than the mw16, you can trade it against bass extension.

Bass problems tend to be more down to implementation and room effects than the drivers themselves.

The adjectives used suggest they're reaching low enough to excite some room modes, resulting in peaks in the response at the listening position. Depending on the room and spread of listening positions, it's possible to improve the LF flatness with EQ.

Have the Rinjani, a 2.5way using this exact woofer. Doesn't sound like that at all to me. The opinions sounds more like the ported cabinet bass tuning resulting in excessive audible delay?

Suggest you to model the cabinet volume & port after the Rinjani to avoid this from happening?
