Hello i want to build a diy 15 inch pa top speaker with a horn in a box now idk if the box 15LB100-8W is good for this use I have a specications for speaker but I never design a box now i guess that a I have to get a winisp and put in that spec and box parameters now idk and also i was thinking of using it as a subwoofer for some time iuntil i get other parts is that like going to be a problem?

The 15LB100-8W is a good value speaker, but not much displacement for a "subwoofer".
The lower power 15LB075-UW4 worked well in the SS15 tapped horn, nearly the output of a pair used in bass reflex cabinets.

Brian, indeed. "Normalized from 28,3V" would mean that the sub was measured at the same voltage at 1m distance, then scaled to 1m / 2 or 2,83V.
Well, that rules out my possible explanation of the difference being port compression.
As for the subjective impression of the SS15 vs. measurements: I would instinctively say that the large resonator should lead to little compression. However, at tuning (43 Hz) my SS15 has a sensitivity of almost exactly 100 dB. It reaches a Max. SPL @ 10% THD of 123 dB at that frequency. That required an input of what I measured to be around 50 volts, 600...
I've compared both in a THAM15, fwiw: http://www.hifi-forum.de/index.php?action=browseT&forum_id=238&thread=189&postID=3#3
It probably would work OK up to ~1000Hz.
Stoneeh would have a better idea of what the driver sounds like, I've never tested or heard a 15LB100-8W myself.

@weltersys @stoneeh ohh my English grammar i was thinking of building a pa top speaker but for the time beaing until i get all parts and calculate boxes to use it as a subwooferand later just put a driver in a top cabinet.
It is hard to beat these drivers for the value, most manufacturer calculate xmax by:
VoiceCoil-MagnetGap/3*2
22-11/3*2 = 7.33mm
That said, 15" had unbeatable value only a couple of years ago, but 12" and 18" are much better value now.
Double 12" using the box 12-280/8A are less than a single 15LB100-8W, and you will get slightly more displacement.
Using single 18" my personal opinion is that you get the most value from SB Audience BIANCO-18SW450 if you can make a large enclosure.
If you want a "compact" 18" and have a little bit more money the new NERO-18SW1900D is very impressive for the price.

@KaffiMann Ahh i will have to edit a post as i sad i eant to build a 15 inch top box with those driver but for time i wanted to use it as a subwoofer until i get all parts.
Using this driver for bass is perfectly fine, the issue is that it will not be suitable for much lower than 40Hz and it is therefore more "woofer" than "subwoofer".
What kind of design are you building?

@KaffiMann well i dont really know what i wanted to do is to build it as simple as it can be becose i dont have that may power tools and i dont have a table saw to be able to cut perfectly what a one problem and how to i pair a tweeter with a woofer driver?
