Hello, I'm looking for a compact horn enclosure for the Fostex Fe103 with the horn opening on the back. I found the following: Which would be the best? Or is there a better one? Thank you.

Non of these are horns as in that that the mouth area loads the driver close to the lower cutof frequency
1. is a resonance pipe (of quarter wave lenght) Positive flare (increase resonance frequency) Constriction Decrease frequency
2. is a resonance pipe (of quarter wave lenght) Positive flare (increase resonance frequency) the most "horn like"
3. is a resonance pipe (of quarter wave lenght) no flare AFAIK
I would go for a Voigt pipe of similar size or really go for a large real horn that will be way bigger.

You can look up the Frugel Horn Mk3

For a smaller cabinet (and not a horn), Shrike from Scott Lindgren's Baby Labs plan set:

Don’t work, and as DrBoar suggests, not really horns. Or very good.
Zia’s FH3 is probably the smallest useful horn.

Okay, now I have another enclosure, the Wodendesign Shrike, that's a good fit in terms of size. Would it work with the FE103—it's designed for the FE103SOL?And the most important question: which of the four enclosures would be the best?
I definitely need bookshelf speakers!
Thank you
P.S. I found the mFonken103!

No. FE103 SOL is fits same boxes as FF105wk (Falcon), FE103 tends to need smaller box. @Scottmoose
Which specific FE103?

It's an old FE103 Clone with black cone, I thinks it's a RadioShack 40-1197Which specific FE103?
Dave's mFonken103 is fine for desktop use, just not much bass. The Shrike should give you more bass. It's an old FE103 Clone with black cone, I thinks it's a RadioShack 40-1197

If you like to step up in size, getting to something horn like...

Sorry, but that's not an option. I'm leaning toward the DDBH-10R or the Wodendesign Shrike.
Which one would have the deeper bass?
Thank you!

I've come to the conclusion that the Fostex speaker isn't right for me: a compact enclosure doesn't have enough bass.
I thank everyone who helped me.

You are right, with the Fostex FExxx struggle to do bass, needing aid wifrom cabinet (horn) and amplifier with high Rout. The FFxx5wk are happy in a reflex box, best one IMO, is the 3” FF85wk. Boxes are “tiny” (2 litre), here with the older FF85KeN. The newer driver fits the same, and a slightly larger box (2.5 litre).
The FF105wk is exactlynthe same basket as the FE103, it doesn’t extend as far down as one would hope for the increase in driver size.
How big a box is acceptable?
Most potential for bass extention with a 4” driver that i have tried is the Markaudio P7HD. Optimum miniOnken is 9 litre but it can fit 5 litre. These are examples of the box (as was with the old FE127e). We have fit a surprising number of drivers into this box, with only changes to the vent spacer (and driver mounting details).
But if you want a "bass monster” and can live with 10 litres, i think i can fit CHN-110 into that size box. This is Pluvia 11 (same size) in a 9 litre CGR for reference.
