Which box for JBL 2042HPL

Hello everyone, question for experts, I have a couple of these speakers JBL 2042hpl, 18 inch

Please tell me which box to calculate for these speakers to listen to at home.

Since the Fs in your driver's is 40, they will struggle to hit 20hz ,therefore you SPL will be limited, but if you can live with the limitation, go ahead for a bass reflex tuned to around 30hz , so to have -9db around 20hz

And since the Vas is 369Lts ,it will be a big box, don't expect to hit 30 with an 80L box

Hmm, dropping a full octave means a doubling of Vas tuned to 20 Hz, so averaged specs = 749.78 L/F-9 db, right up there with some of Altec's max flat alignments.

Vent = 10" pipe x 30.5 cm for low enough vent mach, though best to cut it long if wanting a most accurate tuning.

HR calcs a 150 W max/20 Hz assuming a 9 mm Xmax.

hello, For this measurement you need a special device with resistors, An impedance measurement is made, after which a second measurement is made with additional weight; it can be from 50 to 100 g

Sure! Just make ~2x Vas tuned to 20 Hz same as BR with the only main difference is a much shorter vent and/or larger one for a given tuning.

Might take GMs or some of the pros skills to get a nice flat response but one of the design wizard default TL settings with a tapered line attached. Can tweak more in the loudspeaker wizard. Still is a large box. MJK 2006 alignment triples that volume but response looks nice. .

Is a sealed an option. Involves Linkwitz filters. Been thinking/procrastinating about that for myself as well as a BLH with smaller drivers

Probably , a bass reflex box, the motor force of your driver's is too weak for a tapped horn or a front loaded horn, maybe a 6th order bandpass but I think your driver's motor is too weak for a 6th order.

Closed box, or aperiodic. Transmission Line is also good, but it needs big enclosure volume - model it with HornResp.
Horn is out of question.
