LFD LE IV Signature volume pot replacement

Hi,
I need to have the volume pot replaced. I talked to LFD and asked if I could have something better quality as I think LFD has this volume pot issue apparently. I was told that LFD only recommends this pot. The designer insists that this one is used. I will probably go with the OEM but would still like to know if anyone knows the specs for this pot. All it says A20K on it and looks like it is Bourns brand (at least that's what Google Image search tells me). Thanks.

It could be a Bourns PDB18, Alpha RV16, Alps RK163 or something else. At least in the case of Bourns, Alpha and Alps, A20K means it's audio (log) taper.
Edit: measure carefully just in case but that's a pretty standard pot package and, as long as you select the right thread and shaft, there's no reason why you can't replace it with one of your choice.

Forget everything that Richard Bews can tell you, he is a pure trader.
Buy one of the references that Cabirio kindly gave you and you will see that everything will be fine.
Richard is capable of selling you this poor potentiometer 20 times its price and even then, I think that is a low estimate.

I don't know, I've never met him, only seen him in pictures.
And DR only means that he has a PhD, it could be a PhD in astroparticle physics or agronomy...
I have a Mistral LFD, I like this amp but it's nothing special, just a good amp assembled by hand, in a decent case but it's certainly not worth the sale price.

Is Dr. Richard Bews a real person or some kind of mascot for the company? Has anyone seen him or did you talk to him jencelo?
Hi, I met Dr Richard Bews before 1998. At that time I was working for Joachim Gerhard at Audio Physic and we had a co-operation with the University of Essex.
Richard was a student of Professor Malcolm Hawksford and worked with him on fuzzy distortion (LFD = low fuzzy distortion). I got to know him as a person of great integrity and an authentic audiophile. His circuits show great originality and a deep understanding of electronics.

Greetings, Bernd
