Can I use Rec Out on Pioneer SX410 as a pre out

Mike Thanks for your input, "mind the pun" at the moment I have not yet bought a high res player for music, im yousing an old phone..I have a head phone jack into phone going into aux input on the sx410. So its a phono lead left and right one end to single head phone jack at the other. Im loving the valve sound and the sony ta1144 rocks as an amp anyhows. Just hoping it could be amplified this way. Just had a thought, the pioneer sx410 is very old and even though it was literally brand new out the box in original wrapped plastic bag I should have it looked over and replace what needs to be, re-bias maybe even the 6bm8 valves updated. I read the Siemens 6bm8 are very good.
I should be making the sx410 as good as it can before any thing else. But any input from you guys is awesome.

The manual for rec out. .first picture read number 2. Second picture read numbers 21 and 22. So do we think it's possible for a pre out. ..??

You can, but the Pioneer tube phono stage will be loaded down too much, if the amplifier has a low input impedance,
say under 100k. If you won't use the Pioneer phono stage, then it does not matter.

There is no active tube circuitry in the Pioneer before the volume control (other than the phono stage).
The tape out jacks are connected just before the volume control.

What is it about the Pioneer that you need, the phono stage? If not, then you don't need the Pioneer at all.

So if you just want it for switching between different inputs, that's exactly what it can do.
But it cannot control the volume. You don't have to turn on the Pioneer's power for that.
Just leave it turned off, and not waste the power and tubes, since you would only use the switches.

Why can't you use the amplifier to do the input switching, is it just a power amplifier with only one input?
Does the amplifier have its own volume control?

I think there's a misunderstanding here. If you don't use the phono stage of the Pioneer,
then at its tape out jacks the input signals only go through some switches. There is no valve sound.
The Sony duplicates the switching, so you gain nothing at all from using the Pioneer.

It is typical for a line stage to be after the volume control, so taking the signal before the volume control
at the tape out jacks usually does not involve any tubes or transistors, just switches.

Thanks for all your help friends. .you see the pioneer sx410 gives audible sound when the volume is at 12o'clock onwards, that's why I wanted to amplify with my Sony ta1144. Do you think the pioneer sx410 needs a once over? It's valve and from I think the late 60's to early 70's. I gotta say when I got it, it was like new old stock. The original box without a dent the pioneer inside was like new mint...I should have a professional look at it?
