Just as the title suggests, im looking for a cheaper alternative to the popular pcb mount toroidal such as talema. Alibaba recommendations are also welcome.
Hi you will regret this choice without doubt but only after you have tried the cheaper versions.
Why!?
Because the Talema types are superior in more than 1 aspect. Our friends in China are aware of this and often offer Talema as a more expensive upgrade option. For instance in linear PSUs.
If you like cheap garbage and quality is not on your priority list then you could try out the famous BingZi types. Those are the ones I recycle directly when I see them. Stante pede, rücksichtslos.

Win nothing, loose some.

YHDC is a cheap option, for example : https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3270...856577!rec!HK!2609685283&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu
Yes, Talema transformers have primary windings for the more or less standardized 230V mains voltage and they don’t object to 240V either. Official 2 x 120V versions do exist that can be handy for highish mains voltage or to minimize losses.

I've only used one or two and those only for prototypes. So no long-term experience but no issues found. I generally prefer EI (split bobbin) types for their lower inter-winding capacitance provided I have enough room to place them far enough from the PCBs they power. Thanks that looks really nice. Are they of good quality in your experience?
