Hi all,
All the 2240 transistors where bought from Hifitunning (DE) many years ago and they where sold as originals. The 2SA991E where bought from Dalbani/Nikko Electronics. None of them where bought from unknown sources.

From time to time I sell some spare components. I've never sold any component with prior knowledge that they weren't genuine. Also, I have no complains since 2004.

Anyway I will verify them in every detail.

I've inspected the package dimensions and they all meet the datasheet specs. I will follow with the electrical specs.

Just measure capacistance of that "toshiba 2sc2240" and you will see. but its not need to. i can see easily that casing is NOT toshiba. this is first sign of fake toshiba-casing is smaller. also wafer pin is not centered. I would not tell this is I would not be 100% sure. cant coment on other transitors ,just that 2sc2240GR. the amount of fake trasitors is enormous. 97-98% of 2sc2240/2sa970, 2sa1360/2sc3423. I have learned all this hard way.. many times.

My conclusion is that 2SC2240BL is meeting all the specs and hFE-VCE variation is less than 3 %. Quite good indeed. They are genuine.

Regarding 2SC2240GR the hFE variation is high, around 17%, so I have to withdraw the sale of 2SC2240GR since they do noy meet the specs and I admit that I was scammed also with this part.

Thanks for pointing it out. As I've said the 2SC2240GR is not good indeed.

no problem, if anyone want use them in specific designs very low noise or capasistance is needed they can blame design for worse sound/noise(which is bad mark for some really greats circuits out there) better use fairchild 2sc1845/2sa992 than fake toshbas.

i slowly gathering 2240/970 to make marantz two pairs ma9s2 clones(around 280psc 2240/970 is needed! ). I am in the midldle of progress. my only sources(apart one seller in UK which hapened to have them for tape decks repairs) is used equipment from where i desolder them,or buy already desoldered. pricing usualy 0.7-1eur/psc

I may buy yours 2240BL is price is less or equal than that. good luck in your projects and sorry for bad news.
