Amari LP -82 speed Pot recommended replacements

Hello all,

I have an Amari LP-82 turntable, it is basically an Micro- Seiki RX5000 clone. I’m finding it difficult to get the exact 33.33rpm when using the fine speed adjustment. Does anyone have a suggestion for replacement speed Potentiometers that would make fine tuning the speed a little easier?

Thanks in advance

Many thanks for the reply, I took off the cover to have a look at the pots, they are B50k and measure 9x11x24 mm. Can you recommend a suitable replacement that would be easier to achieve the required speed?

I replaced them with TKD 2CP 601 pots, they are a direct replacement, the shaft is longer so you will need to replace the knobs. It is still tricky to get the speed bang on, but the speed is much more stable. Do yourself a favour and replace the drive belt with a length of silk thread, that helps with speed stability and weirdly sounds better.
Here is where I got the pots from: https://www.hificollective.co.uk/catalog/2cp601-dual-taper-potentiometer-p-8595.html

Hello Scott,
I’m very impressed with the Amari, it is extremely well made. Acoustical Sytems took this particular model under their wing for a while, it is from them that I got the idea of upgrading the pots.
The table I had before this was a Clearaudio Concept, I considered stepping up to an Innovation, then along came this table. I don’t have any regrets. From what I can gather it is very close to a Micro Seiki RX 5000, but with some modern tweaks, Ceramic magnetic bearing etc.
I’m currently listening to Pink Floyd - The Wall , it sounds amazing!
