Doesn't everyone like movie soundtracks…
I love it, when I hear the music from a movie that I like and all in a sudden I'm caught in the atmosphere of this movie.
I also have a penchant for dark, atmospheric music, which can be found in many soundtracks.

Some soundtracks I like a lot (yes I’m a fantasy and sci fi nerd):
Interstellar (Hans Zimmer)
Aliens (James Horner)
Dune (Toto; David Lynch-Version)
Nausicaä of the valley of wind (as an example for plenty Studio Ghibli Movie-Scores by Joe Hisaishi)
Avalon (Kenji Kawai)
Blade Runner (Vangelis)
Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon (Yo Yo Ma)
The last unicorn (America)
The Fountain (Clint Mansell)
Pans Labyrinth (Javier Navarrete)
Prometheus (Marc Streitenfeld)

Not to mention all the great composers: Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith, Howard Shore, etc. etc.

This is just a fraction of my list of favourite soundtracks… what are yours?

I do love sound tracks and have been collecting for a long time probably because my parents also did
But my first one was from the movie Bilitis and I did not comprehend the movie but I loved the soundtrack by Frances lai
Then there was vangelis with the theme from the unknown man this still blows my mind ,then opera sauvage etc, blade runner was just magnificent
Other that I still listen to
Theme from deer hunter ,John Williams
Birdy and rabbit proof fence by Peter Gabriel,
Morricone of course
Blue,red by Zbigniew Preisner
Last man standing by Ryan cooder
Siesta miles Davis
The hot spot ,miles Davis,Tajik mahal,Marcus miller (amazing)
Tom waits and crystal Gail one from the heart
Will look at my collection in a bit gotta go to the dump

Birdy: Peter Gabriel
Prince of darkness: John Carpenter
Carmen Jones: Bizet/Hammerstein
Black Sails: Bear McCreary

But generally not big on soundtracks, though sometimes I get something new from incidental music. Like: Lonely is the night: Billy Squier from The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then Bigfoot.

+1 with Philip Glass.

I liked the sounding ambiance of the Mandalorian, helped by the quality too (THX?)

Edit : did not remember fast enough, Pierre Henry for Maurice Béjart :

Also Allan Parson Project... David Bowie signed very good soundtracks too
