The writers of the original Star Trek series had expected female fans to feel attracted to Kirk, but the fan mail showed that many of them preferred Spock instead. So, pointy ears, a light green skin and heavy eyebrows also do the trick.
The authors tried to include more romantic scenes involving Spock, which was a challenge with a character who approaches everything logically and almost never expresses emotions.

Challenge means it requires more effort. There have been a fair share of romantic Spock for a Sci-Fi show. As for the hardcore fans of this show and their romance... I've heard that it's legendary. 🤫
