Damaged film capacitors. Shipment damage. How bad is this

I ordered these capacitors

Axon Capacitor 43uF 250Vdc TRUE Cap Series

They were not packaged well and all of them have some sort of little dents and scratches

No more than .5 - 1mm deep

Will the cause issues with capacitance or performance In general?

I attached some pics

DAMAGED GOODS:
All shipments should be inspected upon delivery. Any damages incurred during shipping
should be IMMEDIATELY CLAIMED to the CARRIER. The shipment of items to replace
defective merchandise will be done via Small Package Airmail, or equivalent low cost method.

Hello,
Some decades ago i ordered some expensive caps at Sonic Frontiers which later changed its name into partsconnexion.
Packaging was done just like it were some items that can be dropped on a wooden floor from a table several times without any scratch. They have been literally dumped into a small carton box without any other material so during their long trip they can move around freely and damage each other.
It would take one minute extra and a little piece of carton to pack them in such a way that they can never be damaged during transport.
It does not matter if it is a standard or audiophile grade part. It must be properly protected during transport.
So the last few decades i switched to a decent company unless i am absolutely sure it is an item that os extremely hard to damage.
Greetings,Eduard

Hello,
This kind of cap should have a very long life it is delivered in the same condition it had when it left the factory.
The ones in the picture look they have been collected with a big number in a bucket and swung around.
They should have been destructed. Even if they are offered for free it wont be safe to use them. A few might work but you only need one to make something sophisticated turn into a disaster.
Lesson learned. I would say try Michael Percy.
greetings, Eduard

Hello,
Probably they got them cheaper because they were not exactly the way they should have been.
SO you could get them cheaper too.
But i think that a serious manufacturer would rather trash a forgotten stock that has seen better days then letting them appear upon the market
A serious company should not try to make money this way. If they got 500 of these caps and just 3 customers end up with a firecracker in 2022.
Better ask for a refund.
Greetings,Eduard

No they thew 20 capacitors in small box. It would have been impossible for these to arrive undamaged. These were like a pile of candies In a plastic bag. I've ordered captors before from Various venders. Big caps always bubble wrapped individually
Not thrown into a plastic bag with a shovel and press fitted into a tiny box

Very bad practice, and the mfr will be unhappy when they find out.
Maybe you should tell them about this, they won't like it one bit.
It hurts their reputation.

Whose insurance will pay if these damaged capacitors cause equipment
failure, fire, etc? You must do your due diligence, and also keep contemporaneous
records of everything.

All of those capacitors are 100% fine. This damage is purely cosmetic. But at the price paid, the cosmetics are part of what you are paying for, so it is entirely up to you whether to accept or not. I frequently accept caps in this or worse condition, but I am usually getting them at a nice discount from full price, so I don't have a problem with them being less than perfect.

I would just contact partsconnexion and tell them they arrived damaged with photos of the worst offenders. It’s not your responsibility to point fingers but a good business will be eager to rectify the situation; give them a chance to do this. And please, keep us appraised.
