interesting build - (application computer set up ) -Looking over the crossover I noticed that Jeff has called out a 1.5mh laminate inductor (woofer side ). Any particular reason one could not substitute a Air core ? or am i missing something?

Rayma is correct; Mensicus carries the particular brand of inductors that come in 15ga. To match the DCR with an aircore means going to 10AWG aircore. I buy mine directly from Solen; doing so is around 9X the cost per inductor. I feel it is worth the cost in most cases except where the drivers and/or the build is meant to be a budget champion.
You could get yourself an inductor with a slightly higher resistance, and take a chance that you can match the levels through slight adjustment of the tweeter resistors.
Bagby original
looking to Just see what he had in mind with the original design - so did not want to tinker - meniscus is out of stock on that particular item (1.5mh 15sl)- so patience is a virtue - waiting - waiting - end of August aren't we there ?
Jeff had a reputation of using frugal parts ( as i heard ) what is a good compromise on the parts - clarity caps or solen -good enough -or other -what do you think?

I will double-check this for comparison’s sake but also this is not a Bagby design I’ve assembled. How much physically larger is your air core than a metal core coil?
I don’t think he was necessarily “frugal” as much as it was about approachable. That said, I believe aircore vs iron core inductors distortion difference is magnitudes greater than capacitor distortion among different electrodes & dielectrics in a metallized poly vs a foil ptfe capacitor.Jeff had a reputation of using frugal parts ( as i heard ) what is a good compromise on the parts - clarity caps or solen -good enough -or other -what do you think?
Clarity over Solen on tweeter.
Solen over Clarity across woofer.
There are other vendors for parts:
ERSE
Parts Express
Madisound
Parts Connexion
Solen
Might be more...

This also affects the Q of the inductor and may result in a (minor?) amplitude and phase mismatch between the high and low pass filters. In the case of the woofer it could impact qts as well. (I learned this the hard way)
A question and one side note-
question - if Iron core inductors offer superior distortion figures why are they seemingly neglected in high end designs ? do other factors outweigh this benefit ?- I am guessing Jeff decided to implement them in his design despite these shortcomings.Interesting
Perhaps this brings me back to the -Side Note - when I used the expression frugal it was meant as a compliment ( no sense Filling a hole with gold when dirt will do ) when other designers (it seems) advance the use of exotic materials ( self Interest ?) - Jeff seemed to do the opposite - while the former erect walls (financial ) the latter in what seems in a selfless way -was Lets say- welcoming, and encouraging all that were interested - to do as the English would say - Give it a go - without unnecessary expense

@ Kevin, indeed. I've rigged up a test, it's a random driver and crossover. One inductor has no resistance and the other, 1 ohm. While the responses are not the same, I'm thinking that maybe you could get away with treating them as though one has fallen slightly in level.
4KAOss, iron cored inductors are typically chosen for crossover use due to their resistance vs size and cost... not because they have better distortion figures, they probably don't.
If it helps, I get my capacitors from an industrial supplier. Well constructed and well priced.
