Alright, new project, dubbed 'Valhalla'. It is to be a floorstanding loudspeaker, about 6 feet, 1.80m, tall. It'll use eight (!) SB Acoustics SB17NBAC35-4 woofers in a impulse compensated configuration. A FaitalPRO 6PR160 mid and the legendary Beyma TPL-150 AMT compliment the woofers.
Here's a few 3D sketches of the drivers, and the first attempt at a design. I'm going to model the entire loudspeaker in 3D first, to try different design ideas so I can better visualize what the loudspeaker will look like in reality.

I see you look bored on the first picture. Otherwise interesting design. I like the the tweeter and the mid, not sure about the 8 woofers idea.
The Ultima Salon2 and Magico Q5 use three 8" woofers in their tall hi-end speakers. Run a few comparison bass sims between the 8" SB23BAC45-8 woofer and 6" midbass.
SB23BAC45-8 8" Aluminum cone woofer can be sealed+equalized, or ported. Deep bass with SPL to match mid and tweet.

Looks like a cool project. I'd recommend building it in a modular form if possible, or the whole thing is going to end up difficult to move into position.
Hope you've got a measurement mic to get the whole thing dialled in!

He has the gear, if I may say. Measuring such a large source however could be a challenge. Probably a good mix of close range and normal distance measurements will do, following Bagby’s recipe.
If you use 6" drivers, you do not need a midrange, which would need a big amp as well.
The drivers need 14L each to reach 46Hz.
They can output 120dB with +-5.5mm at 46Hz with 120W each. (Baffle step corrected)

That's just the look I have from drawing up the drivers in CAD for two days straight 😀 ...
If you use 6" drivers, you do not need a midrange, which would need a big amp as well.
I think the idea is to have small centre-to-centre distance for the mid and tweeter.
Looks like sensible design to me.

They’ll be supported by outriggers, as mentioned in the opening post this is the very first draft.

Why would I want to do that? They’re what makes the impulse compensation work!
Front-Rear counter-force woofers will favor placement several feet away from the rear wall.
Side-Side counter-force 8" woofers like the SB23BAC45S-4 Aluminum cone with Fs=23Hz and 90db SPL (96db SPL for two in parallel) could be used in a cabinet with large front edge round overs.

Yeah, I'm not sure of that either.
If the rear woofers ran up to a couple of hundred Hz (ie, where they're still omnidirectional in the horizontal plane), there wouldn't be much change in the response until you moved the rear of the cabinet close enough to affect the acoustic impedance between cone and air, effectively by slot-loading the drivers.
Even then, I'd expect the change in response to be pretty small - it can be modelled as a 4th order bandpass, but with a wide and short port.
If the rear woofers were running up to 1kHz, it'd be a different story.

Have been thinkin a bit on a similar (to some degree) project to replace my old main speakers.
Thinking: dome + waveguide (Peerless DA32TX00-08 seems to be best price performance for low cross over), Mid; FAITAL PRO 6RS140 or 18 Sound 6ND430 or SATORI MW19P-4 .... leaning towards the Satori) in a Cardioid enclosure, Bass: 6 x Reckhorn D-165 ported ... great performance, and very low cost ... goes much lower than SBs in small enclosure.
I like the pro mids, not least for power handling, but still I think the Satori would have overall lower THD, and the little larger Sd would be a benefit for an semi open Cardioid design.
