Rebuilding a pair of passive crossovers and the schematic calls for a 2ohm 50w pot.
I can't find one from any of the usual suspects (Parts Connex, Madisound etc). Does anyone know of a high quality pot that is 2 ohm?

Ohmite RJS2R0 Good deal, at half or less of the usual price.

I know pots in a passive network are always undesirable but is that Ohmite one considered decent and "audio" quality
Better you look for a heavy duty switch and resistors . I have two pots 10R 25 wats , inductance of the heavy wire is important .

You won't find a part like this that is any better than the Ohmite.
It may even be the only such part around these days.
Inductance in a 2 ohm wire wound pot is negligible, and will be well under 1uH.

Would a high quality rotary switch strapped to varying resistors be better? Or is a rotary switch no better than a pot in a passive network.
Either can have contact problems over time, and there is no quality difference in the contact or inductance.
Frankly, I would settle on the best single resistance value, and use a discrete non-inductive wire wound resistor,
instead of the pot or a switch.

First you have to found the exact value resistor and eliminate the pot as at long term is not useful .My tweeters have a ladder switch but i never touch it .
The 10R pots i have are similar to the ohmite , i much preferred the sound of a caddock thick film on a heatsink than the pot .
If you can find 0,1 R 3 or 5 W cheap resistors to make a string and find the right value maybe is a good way to begin before spending money

20 resistors are 3€ and 40W for 2R I've done before and it's not bad sounding
once you get the value you buy something better .
