other than the outside of its chassis - it looks first class and those blue caps aren't "terribly old". It should be a solid foundation for a nice mono setup.
Dust the transformers off, use a "rust reformer" then paint them.

Looks like its based on the Mullard 5-20 circuit with an extra pre-amplification stage.
It's in need of knowledgeable renovation, particularly in terms of bringing it up to modern safety standards.
Good for 20 watts and I'm sure there's lots of 'valve heads' who would be eager to get their hands on it! 🙂

Well spotted!
Definitely a Grampian, but with an extra EF86 to the usual 562a circuit.
The one shown in the link below uses 6L6 output valves.

Below is a link which more clearly shows the standard 562A layout and valve complement for comparison.
Seems that you may have a different (and perhaps rarer) model.

And it has extra input trannie, which is excellent.
This is a classic EL34 push- pull power amp with excellent parts and crafted with real workmanship. Finished in hammered silver gray colour.
It the trannies are working, the rest could be restored and needs a new paint job. Ready to rumble for the next fifty years.
Someone has already exchanged some caps for new ones. So the pricey part is done. Check the circuit for correct voltages!

The input transformer would have been included to support the use of a moving coil microphone for public address purposes.

Absolutely stunnig for such an obsolete technology.
20 years ago this has been gone to the bins regularly and now its time for big cash.

Good luck with the auction. I'll be keeping one eye on its progress as a matter of interest.
I’m not getting too excited, unlike the leak 12.1 that I found ( for £85 ! )
The Grampian amp went for the starting price of £80, so not much call for excitement there!
However, I do think someone got a bit of a bargain!

And the buyer then asked if they could collect and pay for it in 5-6 weeks ! So many idiots on there.
Devilbay has become a fraudster paradise, too.
Had two guys from asia who wanted to rip me off by re-routing of the goods to unregistered addresses. Beware of those guys.

Given the listing was collection only, 5-6 weeks is not unreasonable if the buyer was a distance away: Especially under current circumstances.
Could you have negotiated a deposit in good faith?
Too late now, you've insulted him!

Actually EBay rules state payment must be made within 48 hours , the buyer is 23 miles from me , and why not ask before bidding if it’s ok to collect in 5-6 weeks , and it’s totally NOT reasonable in the slightest to expect a seller to wait so long for collection and payment, he’s an inconsiderate idiot and the reason most of us dislike eBay .
