Relay magic trick required

Hey everyone,

I need to fix a pioneer SX 980. The 48V MSJU relay Needs replacing. I have a suitable Omron, but the contact pins are a bit too close together. Dies anyone have a trick to deal with this or do I need to get a base ?

Thanks, Pete

Sorry if this advice is stupid but if I understand your question correct, do you have two possibilitys.

1) Make a pcb to the relay and fitting pins on the bottom side.
2) bend a stiff wire that can go from one relay leg to the pcb hole and then make a way to fasten the relay, maybe with hot glue. You shall end up with a squarish bottom block where the bend wire goes from the fasten relay down trough the glue block and fits in the pcb hole..

Are you sure you have the correct Omron replacement? People list the proper relay on the Audiokarma site, need to look there and see what is recommended

It is in this thread in the Pioneer section
